The Immortal "Thank You"

I have been thinking today that a simple "thank you" would be appropriate in so many instances. An example: when one is complimented on a nice dress, shirt, hairdo, etc., too often the response denigrates the item or characteristic being complimented. Why not a simple "thank you"? It is my opinion that any other other response is probably bad manners.

Speaking of manners, the behavior of drivers at four way stop signs is often amazing. There is a specific order to turns, and almost always that order is observed and encouraged by waves, smiles, and patient waiting.

The Old Man

This is the beginning of the rambling rumblings of an old man as he faces what yesterday brought, today brings, and tomorrow promises. There will be observations of his semi-spiritual life, his political inclinations, his daily struggles with the aging process, his miscellaneous recommendations of movies, foods, recreation, and anything else that comes to mind.
To the ends mentioned above,I will attempt to use proper grammar, to avoid profanity, to admit a liberal bias in most things, and to laugh at myself on occasion.
